Gamcorp Welcomes John Zhang as Third Director and Shareholder
Melbourne, VIC – July 2025 – Gamcorp is thrilled to announce a significant milestone in our journey with the appointment of John (Chen) Zhang as Director of Engineering & Projects and Shareholder of the company, effective July 2025. This strategic expansion of our leadership team underscores Gamcorp’s commitment to sustained growth, innovation, and delivering unparalleled structural engineering solutions to our valued clients.
John brings a wealth of experience and a distinguished career in structural engineering to his new role. He initially joined Gamcorp as a Structural Engineer from 2016 to 2018, contributing his expertise to various projects. Following this, John broadened his horizons at a tier-one consulting firm, where he excelled as a Project Engineer and Senior Structural Engineer on significant local infrastructure projects, as well as private and public sector initiatives.
In 2021, we were delighted to welcome John back to Gamcorp as a Senior Structural Engineer. His exceptional talent and dedication quickly led to his advancement to Principal Engineer in 2023, a role he has held with distinction through 2025. Throughout his career, John has been instrumental in the design, management, and documentation of structures across a wide range of sectors, including:
Healthcare: Hospital extensions and developments.
Commercial & Residential: Multi-level commercial and residential buildings.
Infrastructure: Underground and overground rail infrastructure, tunnels, shafts, underground metro stations, railway stations, and cableways.
Telecommunications: Telecommunication poles and masts.
Resources & Energy: Large-scale roof-mounted and ground-mounted solar farms and pioneering research and development in the renewable energy industry.
Hailing from a family with three generations of structural engineers, John is deeply passionate about continuing this legacy and is profoundly dedicated to serving the industry through Gamcorp. He embodies the core values of the engineering profession, echoing the sentiment:
