Pre-Inspection Checklist

Gamcorp has been engaged by your solar provider to conduct a structural inspection at your property to take precise measurements of the roof. This inspection ensures that the solar system installed on your roof will maintain the structural integrity of the building, pose no risks and not affect the people who use it on a day-to-day basis.

To complete the inspection we will require your assistance. At this stage, we only have the satellite view of your building. We will require your help to navigate the site and to provide and help us gain access to both the underside and top of the roof. It is essential that we are able to physically touch the underside of the roof during the inspection to take accurate measurements of the structural members.

This inspection is a non-invasive, visual process. It involves measuring structural elements and capturing photos of the roof structure. No alterations or intrusive work will be performed during the inspection.

INSPECTION OBJECTIVE

ENSURE ACCESS:

Confirm safe and clear access to the roof structure, including both on top of the roof and the underside of the roof. Physical access to the underside of the roof is required to allow hand measurements of structural members such as beams and purlins.

Identify and address any site-specific access requirements to facilitate an efficient inspection process.

KEY INFORMATION TO COLLECT:

Measure the dimensions of structural members (e.g., roof beams, purlins) to complete a structural assessment of the roof.

Visually inspect roof sheeting to ensure compatibility with the solar array frame system.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

To ensure a successful inspection on the first visit, please prepare the following:

Complete the Pre-inspection Checklist (Next Step)

Unlock all access points to roof spaces.

○

Provide a site representative from someone familiar with the building.

○

Ensure clear access for a ladder or Elevated Work Platform (EWP) if required.

○

Confirm any Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) or site induction details.

Structural Drawings are now mandatory. The only alternative is to engage a qualified roof plumber to assist with the inspection by temporarily lifting roof sheeting.
Gamcorp can organise the hire and delivery of the appropriate EWP. Costs associated with the hire are the Cost + 10% administration fee.
