Why You Need Local Certification

Manufacturers of PV framing systems based outside of Australia and New Zealand often face barriers to entry due to strict local compliance regulations. Gamcorp provides the structural engineering certification required to sell and install your products in these regions.

The Compliance Standard: All solar mounting systems in Australia and New Zealand must comply with AS/NZS 1170.2 Structural Design Actions: Wind Actions. Without this certification, your product cannot be legally installed on commercial or residential projects.

Roof Mount Systems

For Flush & Tilt Systems

We provide comprehensive structural assessment for commercial and residential roof-mounted array frames.

  • General Certification: Base system approval for Wind Region A, Terrain Category 2 & 3.
  • Site-Specific Certification: Optimised fixing spacing for specific projects to reduce installation costs.
  • Scope: Includes Rail type analysis, Fixing type analysis (Tile Hook, L-Foot, Klip-lok), and Tilt angles.
  • Compliance: AS/NZS 1170.2:2021 & AS/NZS 1664 (Aluminium Structures).

Ground Mount Systems

For Solar Farms & Large Scale

Stability starts beneath the surface. We assess soil capacity and wind loads to ensure long-term structural integrity.

  • Soil Capacity Assessment: Analysis of geotechnical data to determine pile embedment depth.
  • Optimisation: Maximise post spacing to reduce material and labor costs.
  • Foundation Design: Custom solutions for Hard, Firm, and Soft clays/sands.
  • Tracker & Fixed Tilt: Expertise in both static and tracking systems certification.

Technical Scope & Requirements

Roof Mount Criteria

To achieve certification for the Australian market, we assess your system against:

  • Wind Regions: A, B, C, and D (Cyclonic).
  • Panel Sizes: Standard 60-cell and 72-cell modules (up to 2000mm+).
  • Fixing Substrates: Steel purlins (min 1.9mm BMT), Timber rafters (JD4), and Concrete.
  • Documentation: We require full schematic drawings (DWG/PDF) and material properties (Grade of Aluminium/Steel).

Ground Mount Criteria

Ground mount certification is heavily dependent on site-specific geotechnical data:

  • Geotechnical Reports: We review soil logs to determine Friction and End Bearing Capacity.
  • Pull-Out Testing: Verification of pile capacity on-site.
  • Wind Shielding: Calculation of shielding factors (Ms) to optimise internal row spacing.
  • Table Configuration: Assessment of single vs multiple table layouts for wind load efficiency.
