For building and asset owners
Should I assess the roof before getting solar quotes?
An early roof assessment can identify structural limits before you choose a system or compare installer proposals. Bring the site address, available drawings and your plans for solar.
What if I have no structural drawings?
Tell us what records you have, including roof photographs and previous inspection reports. We’ll confirm whether an inspection or further investigation is needed to establish the structure.
What should I ask my solar installer about the engineering?
Ask who is assessing the existing roof, who is certifying the mounting system, and what each assessment covers. Confirm whether planned panel storage on the roof is included or needs a separate assessment.
For commercial solar installers
Can I budget the engineering before quoting my customer?
Use our pricing calculator to budget standard services, then confirm the scope with Gamcorp. Bring the site address, proposed system size, roof information and mounting details so we can identify any additional work.
Does mounting certification also cover the existing roof?
Don’t assume one certificate covers both. Roof assessment and array frame certification are separate services; the quote and issued documents define the structure, layout and connections assessed.
Can panel pallets be stored on the roof during installation?
Pallet loads need their own assessment; an assessment for installed panels does not establish a pallet-storage allowance. Share the pallet weights and proposed locations so we can scope the work.
