What we do
Assess the building before committing to solar. We review the roof structure, proposed panel loads and fixing requirements, and identify constraints or further work within the agreed scope.
- Roof area inspection. When included, an inspector records the roof structure, supports and fixings, including visible condition issues such as corrosion or leaks. Complete the pre-inspection checklist before a visit is booked.
- Structural roof assessment. Findings on the roof’s ability to support the solar loads being considered, with structural limits and any further investigation or design identified.
- Information for installers. Assessed structural requirements to include in tender briefs and share with prospective solar installers.
- Scoped certification. The structural certificate or applicable compliance document confirmed in your quote, such as Reg 126, Form 15 or PS1 where relevant.
What should the assessment consider?
Solar adds weight and wind loads to the roof and its connections. The assessment considers the structure and available site information before a layout is finalised.
Tell us about corrosion, leaks, roof membranes and warranty conditions. Structural assessment does not replace advice from the roof manufacturer or insurer; confirm their requirements for your project.
Pallets place concentrated loads on the roof during installation. If a pallet-load assessment is needed, agree it separately so assessed weights, storage areas and support requirements can be documented.
How it works
Review the roof information
You receive a scope and quote identifying the records, inspection and assessment needed.
Understand the structural limits
You receive roof findings and requirements to brief installers and compare solar proposals.
Check the selected system
You receive the certification and installation requirements agreed for the proposed system.
How to get a price
Put an engineering allowance in your budget before committing to the solar project.
Use the published price bands to estimate the selected services. Enter roof area for each building and select the work you need.
For ground mount, carports or other arrangements, send the proposal so Gamcorp can confirm the scope and price.
Open pricing calculatorWhat is included and what costs extra?
- The estimate covers only the selected services, buildings and sizes. Roof inspection and structural roof assessment are separate selections.
- Design compliance certification is charged once per site when selected.
- GST is excluded. Elevated work platform hire and travel beyond 100 km return from the nearest Gamcorp base are charged at cost plus 10% when required.
- The calculator’s limits are 499 kW per building for installers and 2,499 m² per building for owners. Larger projects need a separate scope.
- Agree any strengthening, layout changes, further visits or completed-installation checks in the quote.
Gamcorp confirms the scope, exclusions and quote before work proceeds.

How to get started
Start with the information you have:
- Building address and roof area, or a list of portfolio sites
- Available structural drawings, roof photographs and inspection records
- Your planning stage, proposed solar expansion and any known roof defects or warranty conditions
Tell us what is missing. We can confirm the next information needed.
Start your projectPlanning a tender or a portfolio rollout?
For tenders: include the assessed structural requirements in the brief and ask installers to explain how their proposed system will meet them. Confirm the mounting certification, pallet-load assessment and any completed-installation review included in the scope.
For portfolios: share the site list, available records and priorities. Gamcorp can scope assessments across multiple buildings before you commit to a rollout.
